Before organising a move, separate the reason for your stay from the migration category that may apply. The answer depends on your situation and on the rules in force. This page offers a method for preparing questions and gathering information; it does not determine your eligibility and does not replace legal advice. If you hire a paid remote service, the consumer rights that apply to you remain in force; see the Legal Notice.
Start with your situation
- Define the reason for your stay and its expected length.
- Identify what questions you have about studies, family ties or other circumstances.
- Put the relevant dates in order, without sending sensitive documents in your first message.
- Check the official information before booking services that depend on an immigration outcome.
Use the right source
The National Directorate of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones, DNM) is the reference point for researching residence procedures. Do not treat another person’s experience as a list of requirements for your case. Compare the date and scope of each source, and confirm any condition that is unclear. Official frequently asked questions on residence. Requirements can change: review them again before you submit an application.
Documents: verify before you order
Prepare a list of questions about each document: its origin, validity, translation and legalisation. Confirm with the relevant authority what is accepted before paying for a translation or arranging an apostille. This page does not offer a universal document list or any promise of timelines.
A tracking folder
- Save official sources and replies, with their dates.
- Note which requirement is confirmed and which is still pending.
- Keep support fees, official charges and third-party costs separate.
- Keep receipts and check the status through official channels.
What support we offer
Under a written agreement, we can help organise the research, prepare questions, plan documents and coordinate administrative steps. The application remains the responsibility of its holder. We do not offer legal representation and we do not guarantee residency, a DNI or citizenship.
Connect your plan
If your project includes studies, also review education planning. For budget and arrival, see the guide to settling in Buenos Aires. The paid scope is explained under Services. If you plan to study, see student residency; for an overview of the routes to nationality, see citizenship. Other residence categories: family reunification, work residency, permanent residency and rentista residency.
